Tree Trimming in North Texas
Tree trimming reduces the size and weight of a tree's canopy so it fits its space: lifting branches off the roof, clearing a driveway or sidewalk, opening up views and letting light reach the lawn.
Tree Trimming, done with precision
Tree trimming reduces the size and weight of a tree's canopy so it fits its space: lifting branches off the roof, clearing a driveway or sidewalk, opening up views and letting light reach the lawn. We use pole saws, hand saws and chainsaws, with ropes or lowering where limbs could hit something, and we make cuts that do not damage the trunk. Trimming differs from pruning in purpose: trimming is mostly about shape and clearance, while pruning is about tree health and structure. Live oaks and cedar elms in this area respond well to light, regular trimming, while hard cutting stresses them. We also follow the common guidance on oak timing in Texas, as oak wilt is a concern, and discuss when to do the work. We do not trim near power lines.

Common questions about tree trimming
How much can you take off?
We keep it modest, usually no more than about a quarter of the canopy. Over-trimming harms the tree.
When should oaks be trimmed?
Oak wilt is a known concern in Texas, so timing and sealing cuts matter. We schedule oak work with that in mind.
Are you arborists?
No. We are a landscape and exterior contractor who does tree trimming, removal and cleanup. For disease diagnosis or very large or hazardous trees, we may refer you to a specialist.
Do you work near power lines?
We assess the situation, but work near energized lines is generally handled by the utility or a qualified specialist. We will tell you if that applies.
