Shrub Trimming in North Texas
Shrub trimming keeps foundation plantings, hedges and screens at the size and shape you want.
Shrub Trimming, done with precision
Shrub trimming keeps foundation plantings, hedges and screens at the size and shape you want. We use hedge trimmers and hand pruners, and we pay attention to each plant: hollies, yaupon, boxwood-style shrubs and photinia take shearing well, while flowering shrubs such as crape myrtles and roses need selective cuts to keep their blooms. We trim wider at the bottom than the top so light reaches lower branches, and we avoid cutting into bare wood on plants that will not resprout. Shrubs that have gotten far too large may need a rejuvenation cut over a couple of seasons rather than one drastic chop. We bag clippings and leave hard surfaces clean. Timing varies with the plant and we tell you when to expect the next trim.

Common questions about shrub trimming
How often should shrubs be trimmed?
Fast growers need it two to three times a year. Slower plants may need it once or twice.
Can you cut a huge shrub back hard?
Some plants tolerate it and some don't. We stage drastic cuts where needed so the plant survives.
Are you arborists?
No. We are a landscape and exterior contractor who does tree trimming, removal and cleanup. For disease diagnosis or very large or hazardous trees, we may refer you to a specialist.
Do you work near power lines?
We assess the situation, but work near energized lines is generally handled by the utility or a qualified specialist. We will tell you if that applies.
