Hydroseeding in North Texas
Hydroseeding sprays a slurry of grass seed, mulch fibers, fertilizer and tackifier over prepared soil.
Hydroseeding, done with precision
Hydroseeding sprays a slurry of grass seed, mulch fibers, fertilizer and tackifier over prepared soil. It costs less than sod on larger areas and works well on slopes where seed might wash away, since the mulch holds seed in place. We prepare and grade the area, apply the mix in even passes and give you a watering plan. Bermuda seed is a common choice in sunny yards. Results take longer than sod: germination can take a couple of weeks and a full lawn several weeks to months. It needs consistent moisture early on, and a heavy storm right after application can wash some away. Hydroseeding is best in warm weather for warm-season grasses. It's a practical option for larger lots and rural properties.

Common questions about hydroseeding
How is it different from sod?
Sod is instant but costs more. Hydroseed is cheaper and better for large areas, but takes weeks to fill in.
When should it be applied?
Late spring through early summer for Bermuda, when soil is warm enough for germination.
Sod, seed or artificial turf: which should I choose?
Sod gives the fastest natural result, hydroseed costs less on large areas, and artificial turf suits shade, wear or watering limits. We look at your sun, use and budget before recommending.
Can sod be installed in summer?
Yes. Warm-season sod roots well in heat, but it needs diligent daily watering at first and must follow your city's watering rules.
