Bermuda Sod Installation in North Texas

Bermuda Sod Installation, done with precision
Bermuda is the workhorse lawn grass of North Texas. It loves full sun, handles heat and foot traffic, and bounces back quickly from wear. We install Bermuda sod over a prepared, level surface: old growth removed, soil loosened, grade corrected, and a starter fertilizer worked in. Rolls are laid in a staggered pattern with tight seams, rolled for soil contact and watered right away. Bermuda needs at least six to eight hours of direct sun, so we will tell you honestly if a shady yard would do better with another grass. It also spreads aggressively into beds and needs regular edging. Sod can be laid nearly any time during the growing season, though late spring and early summer root fastest. Sod cannot establish in frozen or fully dormant conditions.

Common questions about bermuda sod installation
How soon can we walk on it?
Light foot traffic after about two weeks, once roots begin to knit. Heavy use is better after four to six weeks.
Will Bermuda grow in shade?
Poorly. It needs strong sun, and in shaded areas another grass or a groundcover is often a better choice.
Sod, seed or artificial turf: which should I choose?
Sod gives the fastest natural result, hydroseed costs less on large areas, and artificial turf suits shade, wear or watering limits. We look at your sun, use and budget before recommending.
Can sod be installed in summer?
Yes. Warm-season sod roots well in heat, but it needs diligent daily watering at first and must follow your city's watering rules.
